In today’s dispatch, we’ve got three utility companies declaring their latest dividends. And one of these firms actually predates the lightbulb.

Consolidated Edison, Inc. ($ED) Declares $0.85 Dividend
While it’s easy to assume that Consolidated Edison, Inc. was created by Thomas Edison, the company actually predates Edison’s invention of the lightbulb. Initially called "The New-York Gas light Company," and founded in 1823, this utility firm actually purchased Edison Illuminating Company in the early 1900’s.
Today, Consolidated Edison is one of largest investor-owned energy companies in the United States. The company provides electricity and gas services throughout New York and New Jersey.
Last week, the firm announced its latest dividend payment.
Consolidated Edison, Inc. will pay an $0.85/share quarterly dividend that is in-line with the previous quarter.
Ex-dividend date: 11/19/25
Payout date: 12/15/25
Forward starting dividend yield: 3.36%
WEC Energy Group, Inc. ($WEC) Declares $0.8925 Dividend
WEC Energy Group, Inc. operates regulated natural gas and electricity services in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Minnesota.
This company dates back to 1896, and WEC Energy has raised its dividend every year for 22 years. And while there isn’t a dividend raise this quarter, the firm has announced its latest distribution.
WEC Energy Group, Inc. will pay an $0.8925/share quarterly dividend, in-line with prior.
Ex-dividend date: 11/14/25
Payout date: 12/1/25
Forward starting dividend yield: 3.08%
Alliant Energy Corporation ($LNT) Declares $0.5075 Dividend
The second Midwest utility company in today’s dispatch, Alliant Energy Corporation provides regulated electricity and gas to over one million customers in Iowa and Wisconsin.
Alliant Energy has paid nonstop dividends for 320 consecutive quarters — giving the company a dividend streak that dates all the way back to 1946.
Last Friday, the firm announced its upcoming payment.
Alliant Energy Corporation will pay a $0.5075/share quarterly dividend that is in-line with the previous.
Ex-dividend date: 10/31/25
Payout date: 11/17/25
Forward starting dividend yield: 2.98%
