Here's What's New In The World Of Investing...

The Daily Dividend 5/23/25

End of the trading week, and quite a few announcements.

So many that every story in today’s dispatch involves a dividend increase. And some of these raises exceed 10%.

Let’s start with the biggest dividend hike first, and then work our way down.

Ralph Lauren Corporation ($RL) Raises Dividend By 10.6%

Clothing company and lifestyle brand Ralph Lauren Corporation - did you know they have their own coffee line called Ralph's Coffee? - announces its latest dividend raise.

Yesterday, the company hiked its quarterly payouts by 10.6%.

Ralph Lauren Corporation will now pay a new quarterly dividend of $0.9125/share.

  • Ex-dividend date: 6/27/2025

  • Payout date: 7/11/2025

  • Forward starting dividend yield: 1.31%

Unum Group ($UNM) Raises Dividend By 10%

Here’s a weird announcement. Yesterday, insurance company Unum Group announced that they will raise their dividend by approximately 10%. But, the company didn’t provide an ex-dividend date or payout date for this upcoming dividend hike.

Instead, Unum Group stated that they will be paying a $0.46/share quarterly dividend sometime in third quarter of this year.

Doing a little detective work, this likely means an ex-dividend date in late July. And a payout date in mid-August.

  • Ex-dividend date: Q3

  • Payout date: Q3

  • Forward starting dividend yield: 2.31%

Flowers Foods ($FLO) Raises Dividend By 3.1%

Bread and baked goods conglomerate Flowers Foods has taken a beating over the past 12 months. The stock is down over -30% in the past year, but this hasn’t stopped the company from raising its dividend.

Yesterday, Flowers Foods announced a 3.1% dividend increase, giving the stock a new quarterly dividend rate of $0.2475/share.

  • Ex-dividend date: 6/5/2025

  • Payout date: 6/19/2025

  • Forward starting dividend yield: 5.96%
