While the shipping industry is cyclical and certainly not for everyone, here’s a high-yield stock that’s currently trading at a price to earnings ratio of 2.30.
Global Ship Lease is a leading independent owner of containerships with a fleet of 71 vessels. The firm has been in business since 2007. And yesterday, the company raised their dividend by 16.7%.
The firm now pays a quarterly dividend of $0.525/share.
Ex-dividend date: 5/23/2025
Payout date: 6/3/2025
Forward starting dividend yield: 9.04%
Waste Management ($WM) Declares $0.825 Dividend
There are dozens of established, under-the-radar stocks that continuously beat the market. Waste Management, Inc. is a great example of this.
Waste Management is North America’s largest waste solutions provider - a fancy term for “picking up the trash.” The company operates in 47 states and six Canadian provinces. And, Waste Management stock has delivered a 10-year average annual total return of 18.71%.
Yesterday, the company announced a $0.825/share quarterly dividend, in-line with the previous distribution.

Payout date: 6/20/2025

Dole plc ($DOLE) Raises Dividend By 6.3%
Bananas, pineapples, berries, cherries, and apples. These are just some of the tasty treats Dole offers.
Dole operates across 30 different countries and is the world’s leading fresh produce provider. Dole plc is also a vertically integrated business that owns container ships to transport their produce, packing houses to prepare their products, and distribution centers to get fruit and vegetables to store shelves.
This is an asset-intensive business and Dole plc has not raise its dividend for several years.
Until yesterday…
On May 12th, Dole plc announced a 6.3% dividend raise. The company will now pay a $0.085/share quarterly dividend.

Payout date: 7/7/2025
Forward starting dividend yield: 2.17%
