The Daily Dividend 7/1/25
Good morning!
Today’s dispatch is extra special because we’re starting off with a bonkers mystery dividend announcement from an ultra obscure, NASDAQ listed company with less than 1,000 followers on Seeking Alpha.
We also have a regional grocery chain declaring its latest distribution. And, a lesser known infrastructure play raising its dividend.
But, let’s start with the oddity first…
Security National Financial Corporation ($SNFCA) Declares 5% Stock Dividend
This is the oddest dividend announcement I’ve ever seen a major exchange listed company make. Yesterday, NASDAQ listed insurance firm Security National Financial Corporation released a statement saying:
“Security National Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: SNFCA) announces that on June 27, 2025, its Board of Directors has authorized a 5% stock dividend for stockholders of record on July 11, 2025. The stock dividend will be issued on July 18, 2025.”
The payment amount wasn’t given, and Security National Financial Corporation official website hasn’t updated their dividend information since 2020, despite the business paying uninterrupted dividends for 37 years.
A very odd situation. But, Security National Financial Corporation has paid dividends for decades, and the company trades at a price to earnings ratio of 9.68.
If you like investigating obscure “mystery stocks,” this might be a fun business to research!
Ex-dividend date: 7/11/25

Ingles Markets, Incorporated ($IMKTA) Declares $0.165 Dividend
Here’s an interesting retail and real estate business that my friend Nelson Smith calls “North America's Cheapest Stock.”
Ingles Markets, Incorporated owns and operates a chain of supermarkets in the southeast United States. What makes this retailer unique, however, is the fact that Ingles Markets typically owns the land their stores are built on.
In other words, this is a retail company that’s also a real estate play with 163 properties across North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia.
Like many value stocks with hidden assets, Ingles Markets is a dividend stock but not a dividend growth stock.
Yesterday, the company announced their next quarterly distribution. Ingles Markets, Incorporated will pay a $0.165/share dividend, in-line with all the previous payouts since 1994.
Ex-dividend date: 7/10/25
Payout date: 7/17/25
Forward starting dividend yield: 1.04%
Lindsay Corporation ($LNN) Raises Dividend By 2.8%
You know those guardrails along every bridge or highway?
Lindsay Corporation makes those.
Lindsay Corporation is an irrigation and infrastructure company that builds and sells watering systems for industrial agriculture, guardrails for roads and highways, and "Road Zipper" barriers that are used to prevent car crashes on the Golden Gate Bridge.
On Friday, the company announced a 2.8% dividend raise.
Lindsay Corporation will now pay a $0.37/share quarterly dividend.
Ex-dividend date: 8/15/25
Payout date: 8/29/25
Forward starting dividend yield: 1.03%
