Good morning and happy Memorial Day!

Hopefully you had a great weekend. Markets are closed today, at least in the United States, so there isn’t a whole lot of new financial news.

Instead, today’s dispatch covers three small-but-important stories that flew under the radar last week. These include a chemical company’s dividend raise, an insurance firm’s latest payout, and a blue chip retailer’s next distribution.

Here we go!

LyondellBasell Industries ($LYB) Raises Dividend By 2.2%

Here’s an extremely high-yield stock that’s trading near its 52-week lows.

LyondellBasell Industries is a chemical company that has seen its share price decline by over -42% in the past year. Despite this, LyondellBasell raised its dividend by 2.2% last week.

The company will now pay a $1.37/share quarterly dividend.

  • Ex-dividend date: 6/2/2025

  • Payout date: 6/9/2025

  • Forward starting dividend yield: 9.76%

Old Republic ($ORI) Declares $0.29 Dividend

Old Republic is an insurance company that underwrites both “Specialty Insurance” and “Title Insurance” policies. It’s a business that doesn’t get much Wall Street attention, despite Old Republic’s market-beating returns over the past decade.

Last Friday, Old Republic announced its next payout, a $0.29/share quarterly dividend that is in-line with the previous distribution.

  • Ex-dividend date: 6/6/2025

  • Payout date: 6/16/2025

  • Forward starting dividend yield: 3.10%

The Home Depot ($HD) Declares $2.30 Dividend

When it comes to retailers, companies like Walmart and Target dominate the conversation. Meanwhile, specialty hardware stores like The Home Depot and Lowe's Companies consistently beat the market while raising dividends at a rate that outpaces inflation.

The Home Depot isn’t raising its dividend this quarter. But, the company has announced its next payout.

In June, The Home Depot will pay a $2.30/share quarterly dividend, in-line with the previous distribution.

  • Ex-dividend date: 6/5/2025

  • Payout date: 6/18/2025

  • Forward starting dividend yield: 2.54%
