Here's What's New In The World Of Investing...

The Daily Dividend 5/14/25

An obscure microcap raises its dividend by 30%. America’s oldest dividend stock keeps the payments flowing. And in direct violation of Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the Constitution of the United States, Peoria, Illinois crowns a new king.

I’m wearing a porkpie hat while talking like a 1930’s newsman, and this is The Daily Dividend.

Paul Mueller Company ($MUEL) Raises Dividend By 30%

Here’s a niche manufacturing business with a price to earnings ratio 8.95 and rapid dividend growth.

Paul Mueller Company makes milk coolers for dairy farms, beer fermentation tanks for brewers, and chemical storage tanks that are used by oil companies like Valero and Baker Hughes.

And while Paul Mueller Company isn’t a high-yield investment, the company is growing its dividend at a rapid rate.

In 2024, Paul Mueller Company hiked their dividend by ~53%.

And yesterday, the company announced a 30% dividend raise.

York Water ($YORW) Declares $0.2192 Dividend

America’s oldest dividend stock does it again!

The York Water Company has paid non-stop, uninterrupted dividends every year for 209 years.

To quote York Water’s commemorative plaque in downtown York, Pennsylvania:

“In 1816, members of the York community came together and formed this company to protect the town from fire and to provide a clean, reliable supply of drinking water. This early example of a public-private partnership is the nation's oldest investor-owned utility and York's oldest business. As a publicly traded company York Water has issued dividends to share-holders since 1816 and established the American record for consecutive dividends.”

Truly an incredible achievement!

York Water will pay a $0.2192/share quarterly dividend, in-line with the previous distribution.

RLI Corp. ($RLI) Raises Dividend By 6.7%

Insurance companies are a well-known source of consistent dividend income.

In fact, Warren Buffett once referred to Berkshire Hathaway's insurance company investments as "[T]he engine that has propelled our expansion since 1967.”

RLI Corp., headquartered in Peoria, Illinois, underwrites conventional property insurance contracts, as well as specialty policies such as “environmental liability for underground storage tanks.”

Yesterday, RLI Corp. raised its dividend by 6.7%, giving the business a 50-year steak of uninterrupted rising dividends and officially making RLI Corp. a Dividend King.
